Admission procedure
In January of each year, the Institute of History opens a Public Call for Papers for the next issue of the journal Historical Searches.
Authors submit their papers electronically to the journal’s address htraganja@iis.unsa.ba. The annual publishing activity plan determines the work dynamics and division of labor in preparing for the publication of each issue of the journal. The Editor-in-Chief, together with the Secretary of the journal, receives the authors’ papers, and then performs the first selection, i.e. decides which papers will be submitted to the members of the Editorial Board. The finally determined text of the journal is sent for printing to a printing house selected after the public procurement procedure. The Secretary of the journal submits the selected papers without the names of the authors to the members of the Editorial Board for reading, and then the members of the Editorial Board read the submitted papers, perform a second selection, and in agreement with the editorial board and the Editor-in-Chief, reviewers are proposed and it is decided which paper will be directed to which of the selected reviewers. After the review procedure has been completed, the Editor-in-Chief, in cooperation with the Editorial Board, determines the final content of the current issue of the journal. After that, the selected papers are subject to proofreading, and the abstracts, titles, and keywords are submitted to the person engaged to assign UDC and DOI numbers for each article. After proofreading, the papers are first proofread by the Journal Secretary, who sends the papers to the text layout, after which the papers are submitted to the authors for proofreading. In the event of objections from the authors, the editor-in-chief performs a second proofreading of the full text of the journal. The finally determined text of the journal goes to printing. Printing is done in a printing house that has been selected through a legal procedure in the field of public procurement.
